The second annual Mother's Day Climate Rally featured many speakers, including VA delegates Vivian Watts and David Bulova, state senator Chap Petersen, Allison Kole, lawyer for Our Children’s Trust (talking about the landmark climate lawsuit brought against the US government by 21 youth plaintiffs), Dr. Timothy Dr. Timothy O’Mara from Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action, and youth speakers Emma Layton, Dyana Jaye and Erin Phillips. Entertainment included music from social justice folk/rock band M4TR (music for the revolution) and kids' activities.

Our first annual Mother's Day Climate Rally took place on Sunday, May 14, 2017, offering rally-goers a change to “skip brunch to save the world,” and featured presentations from national climate and environmental leader Rebecca Wodder, local climate activists, and music from performer Chris Anderson, as well as other local environmental groups tabling and kids' activities.
